An off-road cycling organization that does more than ride.

    Tips

    • Know Before You Go
NEMBA is always looking to expand general membership ($30 for families, $20 for individuals).
    • Look Good
The newsletter and hotline will keep you informed. Call 1-800-57-NEMBA to join or learn about volunteer opportunities.
    • The Extras
There's plenty to do at NEMBA, but you'll still have plenty of time to enjoy the many recreational rides offered from spring to early winter. And when the weather doesn't permit travel on two wheels, there's cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and hiking.

    Overview
This is not your average, everyday bike club. Sure, NEMBA sponsors organized outings. Yes, NEMBA members train and ride together. But there is something more going on here. This is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting trail access, maintaining open trails and educating mountain bikers to ride responsibly. NEMBA does this by providing ride leaders, trail volunteers, trail bosses, patrollers, ambassadors and other volunteers at locations throughout New England.

    The Appeal
If you like to ride at the Fells or Lynn Woods, maybe you've seen a NEMBA patroller, cycling along with first-aid supplies, tools and cellular phones while offering assistance to cyclists and trail users. The organization wants to change the popular misperception of mountain bikers: NEMBA members are not a radical group that rip up trails or pose a threat to other rail users. They are an environmentally conscious group of bikers.
